- Step 1: Pick out a song that the lyrics can be connected to Conflict Theory. Provide the following information:

- Step 2: Provide a example where you QUOTE THE LYRICS to make a connection to conflict theory. This means you should have something liked this:
- EXAMPLE FORMAT: In [song name], [artist/group] say, “[quote from song].” These lyrics connect to conflict theory because they [include your explanation here].
NOTE: If the song that you are using has lyrics that may not be 100 percent PG, that is okay. A lot of songs are not. However, I do ask that you use **** to make it school-appropriate. Keep it classy. 🙂

SPRING BREAK!
- For today, you are going to read the following explanation of what anticipatory socialization is.
- After you have read the following description, you are going to write a short paragraph (4-5 sentences) that explains what sort of anticipatory socialization you have already gone through OR you are going to write about what anticipatory socialization you will need in the future for your desired career.
- After the short paragraph, you are going to create a small collage of photos that shows what career you are interested in.
- These don’t have to be any solid plans yet, but just something that you might be interested in doing later in life.
- You will need to include at least 5 pictures in the collage and you can just make this on the next page.
- I will be giving you an example of what I am looking for for you to use!
- Â For today, you are going to watch a short video about the “hidden curriculum”
- Then you are going to read a short article about primary and secondary socialization.
- After you have watched the video and read the article, there are a few questions at the end of the reading for you to answer.
- For today, you are going to watch a video about media socialization.
- After you have watched the video, you are going to pick three of the forms of mass media and how they have affected you in a positive or negative way.
- TV, Social Media, internet, radio, magazines, newspapers, books, movies & music.
- After you have chosen your three, you will write three short paragraphs (4-5 sentences) about how each has affected you in some way or another.
- For today, you are going to watch a video about total institutions.Â

- For today, you are going to watch two videos. The first is a Crash Course over the topic of social groups, and the second is covering primary and secondary groups.
- After watching the video about primary and secondary groups, you are going to complete the following worksheet.
- After you have watched the two videos and completed the worksheet, submit to Canvas by 11:59pm.
- Â For today, you are going to be watching a TED Talk about everyday leadership and the impact it can have on people.
- Then you are going to be writing two paragraphs, each about 5 sentences in length.
- For the first paragraph, you will be writing about a time when someone else’s everyday leadership impacted you like the girl in the video. You will discuss the impact of that person and what it meant to you.
- In your second paragraph, you will be writing about a time that you demonstrated that type of leadership to someone else, like Drew did in the video. You will also discuss the impact that it had on your life doing that for someone else.
- After you have watched the video and written both paragraphs, you will submit to Canvas by 11:59pm.
- For today, you are going to read the article that discusses the three main types of leadership styles.
- After you have read the article, you are going to answer the questions that follow.
- After you have answered the questions about leadership styles, submit to Canvas by 11:59pm.
